Help Center — vSMS
vSMS gives you three things: temporary numbers for verification codes, temporary e-mail addresses, and a second number you keep for calls and texts.
Temporary numbers (SMS codes)
- Open the Verify tab and choose Number.
- Pick the app you need a code for, then a country.
- Tap Get number. The credits shown are taken from your balance and a number is reserved for you.
- Enter that number in the other app and ask it to send the code.
- The code appears in vSMS automatically. Tap it to copy.
No code? You get your credits back. If no code arrives before the reservation ends, or you cancel before one arrives, the credits return to your balance automatically.
My code isn't arriving
- Wait a little: many codes take a minute or two. You can cancel only after a short wait, so a code that is on its way isn't lost.
- Make sure the other app actually sent the SMS. Some apps quietly refuse virtual numbers.
- Countries marked High deliver most often. If a country is marked Low, try a different country rather than the same one again.
- Can't find your app in the list? Search for it, and if it isn't there, choose Any other app.
Temporary e-mail addresses
- In the Verify tab, choose E-mail.
- Pick the site you are signing up to and a domain, then tap Get email address.
- Use the address on the site. The code appears in vSMS when the e-mail arrives.
Your first address is free. After that, the Mail subscription includes addresses up to the allowance shown in the app, or you can pay credits for a single address, refunded if no code arrives. Addresses are receive-only and temporary, so don't use them for an account you'll need to recover later.
