This page doubles as your App Store Support URL content and an in‑app FAQ.
How do I add a medication? On the Today tab, tap the + button (top right), fill in the name, dose, what it treats, color, and schedule, then tap Save.
How do I log a dose? On Today, swipe a dose right to mark it Taken, or left to Skip — or tap it for details. You can also tap Taken in the reminder notification, or the Log taken button on the home‑screen widget.
How do reminders work? MedVault schedules local notifications based on each medication's times and frequency (daily, every N days, weekly, or as‑needed). Make sure notifications are allowed in iOS Settings.
Is my data private? Your medications, doses and journal are stored on your device, and no account is required — the app works fully signed out. Some optional features do use our server: caregiver sharing, the AI assistant, encrypted cloud backup, and the push alerts caregiver sharing needs. Each is off until you turn it on, and our Privacy Policy lists exactly what each one sends.
Do I need an account? No. Sign in with Apple is optional and only needed for caregiver sharing, the AI assistant and cloud backup. Our server stores an account identifier — not your name, email or health record.
What does caregiver sharing actually share? Only the medications you pick, and only their name and colour, plus each scheduled dose's time, status and when you logged it. No dosages, notes, journal entries or as‑needed doses. Shared dose events are deleted after 30 days, and revoking a share erases the caregiver's copy immediately.
Is cloud backup readable by you? No. Backups are encrypted on your device before upload, with a key kept in your iCloud Keychain. We store a file we cannot read. The newest 10 are kept.
What is iCloud Sync? Optional. When enabled (Settings → iCloud sync), your data syncs across your devices through your own private iCloud. It's off by default.
Does it work with Apple Health? Yes (optional). Enable Apple Health in Settings to save your journal mood to Health and pre‑fill sleep.
What's free vs. Premium? Free includes up to 2 medications, reminders, dose logging, the journal, trends, and Apple Health. Premium unlocks unlimited medications, supply/refill tracking, the doctor PDF export, the drug‑interaction checker, caregiver sharing, the Ask MedVault assistant, encrypted cloud backup, and iCloud sync.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription? iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → MedVault. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the period ends.
How do I export or delete my data? Settings → Export all data (JSON) for a copy. There are two separate deletions: Settings → Your data → Delete all my data erases everything on this device, and Settings → Account → Delete my account erases the server side — your account, caregiver links and shared dose history, and your cloud backups. Each leaves the other alone; use both if you want everything gone.
Is the interaction checker medical advice? No. It's an informational, on-device check of common interactions and is not exhaustive. Always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor.
